On paper, €70,000 looks like the salary that should make money feel easy.
In real life, the woman earning it may be paying a mortgage, supporting a family, commuting, carrying childcare, replacing time with convenience and trying to save for three different futures at once.
The useful question is not “where did it all go?”
It is “what is this income already responsible for?”
Review three months of spending and one year of irregular costs. Then separate committed costs, flexible spending and long-term priorities. The goal is to find the decision that creates the most room, not to criticise every small purchase.
A good salary can hide a weak system for longer. It cannot replace one.
